11th Hike to End Hunger at Pat Hurley Park
Join us for Rio Grande Food Project's 11th Hike to End Hunger on Saturday October 17th, 2026. Enjoy a heart-healthy walk, a compassionate community of friends and supporters of RGFP, and a FUN festival atmosphere on Pat Hurley Park's spacious lawn. Join us to eat, play, and relax in the gorgeous New Mexico sunshine for a great cause - ensuring every person has enough plentiful, nutritious food.
Rio Grande Food Project's Hike to End Hunger and Community Festival is FREE community-building and educational event.

- Registration opens: 9:30am
- Program starts: 10:00am (kick-off, hike, lawn games, music, face painting, partner activities, food)
- Event ends: 12:30pm
Join us for our FREE community festival! Our community partners will be there with fun activities, cooking demos, free flu shots, cornhole and other games at Pat Hurley Park. Bring the kids and the family dog to learn more about Rio Grande Food Project's food security work to alleviate hunger and move towards a vision for a client-choice grocery store.
Hike starts along Pat Hurley Park’s Lower Loop with a gradual incline up to the park’s upper loop area, with one of the best views of the city! The Lower Loop and Upper Loop Trails combined are 1.3 miles, and if you prefer a longer hike, you can double the Upper Loop or choose from 3 different stair trails for a more strenuous workout. The family friendly trail is also stroller and dog friendly.
Not a hiker? We've got you! Hang out on the lawn and relax with us, play some cornhole, dance to a great playlist, visit our community partners for a chance to win cool raffle items, work on your badminton skills, or get your face painted! It's a fun time for the whole family.
