Let's ensure people have enough food!
Supporting Rio Grande Food Project's hunger relief and food security mission makes an immediate difference.
Hi, my dear friends and family! For almost ten years, I've been super fortunate to work at an organization that I believe in with all my heart. Day in and day out, the Rio Grande Food Project community comes together to create access to free food, to be sure that food is nutritious, and to create connections and bonds that improve food security long term - the RGFP community includes tireless volunteers, passionate donors and local businesses, New Mexican farmers, food bank partners, gardeners and composters, knowledgeable social service experts, skilled and dedicated staff and board members, and brave Albuquerque and surrounding metro area residents facing extreme financial challenges, determined to feed their families and their neighbors' families... Together, we source and distribute thousands upon thousands of pounds of nutritious food, serving well over a thousand people EVERY WEEK, we grow food together, we teach and learn to cook, we engage in financial literacy education, we relieve households of burdensome bills and expenses, we enroll in critical supplemental nutrition and public benefits programs and we connect with pathways to employment... all to put more food on more tables at the end of the day. In the face of cuts to federal funding for critical food security programming, and as federal supplemental nutrition program eligibility requirements become more onerous, our team set a BIGGER THAN EVER Hike to End Hunger fundraising goal, because our food pantry line just keeps growing longer. So I'm inviting you, my friends and fam, to invest in this important work - if you're able to at this time. Thank you so much for your encouragement and love year after year!
